On March 10, 2010, Wu ZhaoHui, Vice President, and invited experts came to FIT to investigate on "12th Five-Year" Sci-technology research plan. Nearly 30 people, including Liu Xu, the Director of FIT, the heads and secretaries of the various disciplines attended the meeting in the third conference room of Administration Building, Yuquan Campus.
From meeting national needs, basic research and the frontiers of science, Professor Liu Xu introduced the "12th Five-Year" Sci-technology research plan of FIT briefly. The Deans in charge of research of various departments also presented their latest ideas about plan. Gong Xianyi, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor Gu Weikang and Yu Jingquan, etc, proposed valuable opinions and suggestions on major research planning, the layout of key projects and problems.
Wu Zhaohui, Vice president of ZJU, highly evaluated the Sci-technology research plan and pointed out: “12th Five-Year” Sci-technology research plan should not only integrate national plans, but also base on the frontiers of science, combine with "985" Project, promote the integration and cross of interdisciplinary. Professor Liu Xu expressed that the Plan of FIT would be further revised and improved. The seminars for cross project would be developed in-depth to enhance the cross and co-operation with agriculture and medical disciplines to promote the level of science technology.
