The symposium titled as Nanophotonics, which was organized by FIT young teacher forum, was successfully held in the room 440 of the Third Teaching Building in Yuquan Campus at March 11. Prof. Bao Hujun ,the vice director of FIT, hosted the symposium. Prof. Qiu Min, the “Thousand plan” professor, was invited to give a report titled as “Nano photonic devices based on surface plasma and manual electromagnetic medium”. Young teachers Xu Yang and Wu Jing gave the related speeches. Almost 60 teachers and students attended the symposium.
Prof. Qiu Min introduced the development and related concept of the surface plasma and manual electromagnetic medium. He analyzed the great opportunities and broad prospects on the international background of energy shortage, showed the related research and development.Xu Yang summarized the optical properties and electrical properties of the new material Graphene and talked about its application. Wu Jing introduced a new branch of science about micro control of photon.
At the end of the symposium, the young teachers discussed about the academic problems such as the Nano photonic devices based on surface plasma and manual electromagnetic medium, and talked about the situation, problem of the researches. Prof. Bao Hujun pointed out that the cultivation of young teachers and the creation of a good research environment for them were very important. He hoped that the young teachers can grow up in scientific research as soon as possible.
