The IEEE WCNC 2011 was held in Cancun, Mexico. Doctor Shan Hangguan, a young teacher from Research Institute of Information and Communication Engineering，Department of Information Science and Electronic Engineering, won the Best Industry Paper Award.
IEEE WCNC is one of the most influential conferences held by the IEEE Communication Society. It aims to promote the communication of the scholars all over the world in the area of frontier technology of Wireless Communication and Networks. The Best Industry Paper Award is to reward the author who makes the most contributions to the development of the Wireless Communication and Network technology. Only 3 of the 400 papers won the award this year.
In the paper,Doctor Shan and the cooperators researched the energy efficiency of the Wireless Body Area Network. The Wireless Body Area Network has a broad prospect of application. It can be applied in the areas of medical care, virtual sports, touch simulation, etc. So the international research is becoming active. The Wireless Body Area Network is facing many challenges in the aspect of communication networking. Doctor Shan and the cooperators came up with an effective way that makes use of the human attitude information and cooperative communication to increase the energy efficiency of the network
