On October 22, 2011, the activity, “Access the ‘Sensing China’ Center’’, was held by the FIT Young Teacher Forum with a bang. More than 40 young teachers attended the visit to the Wuxi Sensing Network Exposition and Wuxi Sensing Network Industry Research Institute and listened to the splendid reports of Doctor Shen Jie, the assistant of the Present of the Wuxi Sensing Network Industry Research Institute.
Firstly, the young teachers of FIT visited the China International Sensing Network Exposition, which was held in Wuxi Lake Tai International Expo Center. As the innovation demonstration area of national sensing network, Wuxi has a great change with the rapid development of the Sensing Network in the past two years. This expo is under the title of “Application, let the Sensing Network move from concept to reality”. So the expo establishes two main forums: Application Forum and Technology Forum. The two main forums focus on the important application areas (such as Intelligent Transportation, Intelligent Medical and so on) and technology areas (such as Mobile Internet, Sensor and so on). The young teachers with different backgrounds had a deep discussion of they own research areas. During the visit, the young teachers also found the high-tech companies from some domestic universities including Tsinghua University, Beijing Institute of Technology and other universities.
In the afternoon, in the company of Doctor Shen Jie, the young teachers visited the Wuxi Sensing Network Industry Research Institute which locates in the Wuxi High-tech Lake Tai Garden. And Doctor Shen Jie introduced the young teachers of the Protection of Network, Intelligent Transportation, Smart Grid and Green Agriculture in details. Doctor Shen Jie did three splendid reports about the development, trend and challenges of the Sensing Network, especially the efforts of our country. After the reports, they discussed about the fields that both sides are interested in and laid the foundation for further cooperation.
This activity is a great chance for the young teachers to learn more about the application and technology of the Sensing Network.
