What is smart factory? how to realize the intelligent traffic? How to complete the fusion and control among physical space, information space and human social space?... These topics are discussed in the forum held on June 22 at the Zhejiang University Yuquan Campus, which theme is “the significant scientific problems in CPS”. The leaders from the Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education, Zhejiang University, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, and many experts attended the meeting. It was presided by Prof. Liu Xu, the Director of FIT. Professor Sun Youxian, the principal of CYBER Innovation Jiont Research Center, Academican of Chinese Academy of Engineering, gave the theme report.
Professor Yang wei, the President of Zhejiang University, gave warmly welcome speech. He talked about that a complex information space (Cyber Space) has been constructed, which was parallel to the Physical Space and Social Space. With the development of Ubiquitous Interconnection, Ubiquitous Computing and Augmented Reality, the three spaces will form the integration of Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS). He hoped the CYBER Innovation Jiont Research Center could solve the fascinating scientific problem of CPS though the cooperation of three schools.
Professor Wu Zhaohui, Vice President of ZJU, Professor Zhang Wenjun, Vice President of Shanghai Jiaotong University and Hua Lin, Vice director of Major Special Program Office, Tsinghua University, gave reports respectively. They reached a consensus it was a good opportunity to grow together. Tai ZhongChi, Director of the Department of high-technology, Ministry of Education, affirmed the CYBER collaborative innovation and proposed guidance opinion in view of 2011 plan.
