On 3-4th September 2013, Aarnout Brombacher ( vice president), Karen Ali, director of Foreign Affairs Office, professor Jan Bergmans, head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, and professor Lu Yuan from Department of Industrial Design visited Zhejiang university and met with Yonghua Song, executive vice president.
In the afternoon of September 3rd 2013, the delegation visited Faculty of Information Technology. Professor Erping Li (FIT, Zhejiang University) and Aarnout Brombacher, briefly introduced the general information of their colleges, respectively. Then they discussed about the exchanges and cooperation between the two universities on scientific research, the Joint research centers, teaching, postgraduate training and teacher visiting, etc. Xianmin Zhang, Zhijiang Shao, Yucai Zhu, Shijian Luo, Zheng yao, Wuhua Li and Keping Yan also attended the meeting.
The cooperation between ZJU and TU/E originated from the Brain-Bridge Program in 2005, involving different areas of optics, bio-sensor technology, visualization of bio-imaging and agronomy. Onthe basis of these projects, in early 2013, on behalf ofFaculty of Information, Professor Xu Liu andProfessor Erping Li had discussed with TU/E on the establishment ofjoint researchcenter, trainingof studentsand teacher visiting, which has laid a solid foundation for this visit.
Accompanied by Liping Xu from the Sci-tech Academy of Zhejiang University, Miss Yongqin Zeng, R&D director, and Miss Lichen Yu, senior manager of the department of External Cooperation from Philips Chinese Research Center, also attended this meeting. Miss Yongqin Zeng introduced the R&D status and looked forward to the further cooperation with Zhejiang University and TU/E.
