What is cognition? What characteristics does cognitive process have? To different Specific disciplines, if they have different focus and context when analyzing cognition?
On the afternoon of April 22nd, 2014, the symposium "cognitive computing and communication" was held in Yifu science building at Yuquan campus. This symposium was organized by CYBER scholar Professor Gang Pan from the "Expression and cognitive computing of complex objects" platform of Cyber research center and the associate professor Wei Wang. This meeting invited 4 professors and scholars from other universities: Prof. Liang Wang, from Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Associate Prof. Zonghua Gu, from Department of Computer Science, Zhejiang University, Associate Prof. Guodong Zhao, from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, and Associate Prof. Wei Wang, from Department of Information Science & Electronic Engineering, Zhejiang University,
Professor Hujun Bao presided over the symposium and made the opening speech. He hoped that the center can always adhere to the principle of "promoting the integration and development of the cross disciplines”, and strive to build a scientific research platform with strong academic atmosphere for young faculties, through the exchange of mutual learning and communications to bring new research ideas.
Next, The faculties made the following excellent speeches: “Functional Brain Networks and Electrophysiological Basis”, ”Research on Calculation of brain”, “Inter-Tier Information Acquisition for Spectrum Sharing in Cognitive Radio Networks” and ”Environment perception of cognitive wireless network and adaptive mechanism”.
This meeting attracted a large number of students. By communications, the research vision of students was expanded, and furthermore their enthusiasms for scientific research were stimulated. Through multi-interdisciplinary fusion, these young scholars can encourage each other on the research road.
