A show named "Smart Students Make the World Intelligent" was presented at Yuquan Campus in the afternoon of May 21 at the UIUC-ZJU workshop. The UIUC delegation, comprised of professors from electrical and computer engineering, was deeply impressed by the academic excellence, fluent English, confident manners, and creative ideas of the high-tech student teams.
The student teams represented a new generation of engineering students who are both academically strong and globally oriented. The three high-tech student teams are: ZJU Programming Team from School of Computer Science and Technology who had won 4 gold medals in ACM-ICPC Asia and the championship of the 35th ACM-ICPC in 2011; ZJU Soccer Robot Team from College of Control Science and Engineering who demonstrated ZJU Nlict -- the small wheeled soccer robot, and ZJU Dancer -- the mini type humanoid robot which had won championships in RoboCup at home and abroad; ZJU Smart Intelligence Team from College of Electrical Engineering who had won 1 national grand prize and 10 national first prizes in Free scale Intelligence Car Competition since their participation from 2006.
