Professor Bao Hujun won the 2017 CCF Wang Xuan Award in China National Computer Congress 2017 (CNCC 2017).
CCF Wang Xuan Award, established by the Chinese Computer Federation, is aimed at rewarding individuals who have made significant academic achievements in computers fields and important contributions to society.
Personal Profile from Prof. Bao Hujun:
I am currently a professor in the State Key Laboratory of Computer Aided Design and Computer Graphics and college of Computer Science and Technology, Zhejiang University. I graduated from Zhejiang University in 1987 with a B.Sc. degree in mathematics, and obtained my Ph.D. degrees in applied mathematics from the same university in 1993. In August 1993, I joined the laboratory.
I lead the 3D graphics computing group in the lab, which mainly makes researches on geometry computing, 3D visual computing, real-time rendering, and their applications. Our research goal is to investigate the fundamental theories and algorithms to achieve good visual perception for interactive digital environments, and develop related systems. We have published a number of papers over the past few years. These techniques have been successfully integrated into our realtime rendering engine VisioniX, 3D structure recovery system from videos ACTS, and the 2D-to-3D video conversion system. Our researches are supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China and National Key Basic Research Program of China.
