From July 4th to 5th, 2019, Professor Chen Jiming, Vice Dean of FIT, ZJU, together with Professor Cheng Peng(a young Changjiang scholar), were invited to attend the Global Research Network for Automation and Control Conference held in Nanyang Technological University (NTU). The conference was sponsored by Newcastle University in Australia, with Sweden's Royal Institute of Technology, University of California, Santa Barbara, ZJU and NTU as co-sponsoring university. The participants/parties held in-depth discussions on cooperation issues such as student exchanges, joint doctoral/postdoctoral training, and regular exchange visits of professors, formed operating rules and reached memorandums of understanding. The meeting is expected to deepen cooperative research by strengthening close exchanges among various parties and expanding international influence, especially in the field of control . the delegates also visited the Delta Cooperation Laboratory and the Internet of Things Laboratory of NTU.
During the meeting, representatives of each university introduced their respective universities and their control specialties and made academic reports. After a brief introduction of FIT and CSE College,ZJU ,Professor Chen Jiming (IEEE Fellow) gave an academic report entitled "IoT: From Sensing to Applications". Then Professor Cheng Peng also made a presentation entitled "Industrial cyber physical system: monitoring, control and security".
