n August 17th, Prof. Er-ping Li, both from ZJU-UIUC Institute and from the ISEE college,ZJU, was presented IEEE EMC Laurence Cumming award in 2021 to recognize his outstanding contributions to the development of EMC society and EMC related research.
It is reported that this award is one of the two highest awards of IEEE EMC society, which is awarded to only one person worldwide every year. This is also the second time that Prof. Li . returned in glory after winning another highest award Richard R. Stoddard award in 2015.
Prof. Li is currently Qiushi Chair Professor of ZJU and IEEE Fellow. He is also a leading expert in signal and power integrity and electromagnetic compatibility in the field of high-speed integrated circuits, packaging systems and 5G communication. He has published more than 300 papers and two monographs in internationally famous journals, and many research achievements have been applied.
In addition to devoting himself to scientific research, he has also been committed to building a good communication platform for scholars in EMC related fields around the world and helping to build an EMC academic community. The Asia Pacific EMC International Conference (APEMC) founded by him in 2008. has become the most prestigious seminar in the field of electromagnetic compatibility in the world.
IEEE electromagnetic compatibility society, founded in 1957, aims to study tools and technologies to reduce electromagnetic interference, and lead the development of international electromagnetic compatibility standards, measurement technology and test procedures, instrumentation, equipment and system characteristics, interference control technology and components, education, calculation analysis and spectrum management. Laurence Cumming award has been awarded since 1979, and only one person is awarded worldwide every year to commend scholars who have made great contributions to the development of EMC society.
