From Sept. 8th to 11th, Prof. Li Erping, Vice Dean of FIT, visited the Faculty of Engineering and the School of Electrical and Computer Science of UIUC and met with relevant leaders and professors to discuss the cooperation in the field of information electronics. On the 8th, Prof. Phlippe Geubelle, Executive Deputy Director of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. John Coleman, Provost and Vice-Chancellor of UIUC; on the 9th, Prof. Bruce Hajek, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Science; Prof. Rashid Basir, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering on the 11th. The two sides discussed how to promote education and talent training at the intersection of information technology development in the new era, and seek effective measures to promote education and talent training in the direction of interdisciplinary integration. At the same time, Prof. Li and the director of the Faculty of Engineering had a special discussion on the feasibility of joint training of graduate and doctoral students between the two universities and suggest of carrying out AI+ teaching on a large scale. During the visit, Prof. Li participated in the 75th anniversary celebration seminar of the UIUC Electromagnetic Laboratory.
