On the noon of Sept.28, 2025, 7th Yuquan Forum of ZJU was successfully held in the Hangzhou International Science and Technology Innovation Center ,Shuibo Campus. The theme of this forum is Integration and Crossover, Gathering Strength on Key Equipment, and discussions will be conducted around the major strategic needs and frontier directions of China.
The forum activity begins with a visit to the National Key Laboratory of Extreme Photonics and Instrumentation. Prof. Kuang Cuifang, Deputy Director of National Key Lab, introduced the physical equipment such as laser direct writing from the perspective of the development history of optics and the evolution of the college, vividly demonstrating the laboratory's scientific research strength and technological accumulation.
After the visit, the forum began to enter the communication phase. The first stage of the forum discussion was chaired by Liu Bo, the Communist party secretary of COSE, which is the rotating unit of the forum. The meeting announced the adjustment list of the Discipline Exchange Program Committee of Yuquan Campus, and some representatives of the committee members delivered speeches. Prof. Kuang Cuifang from COSE shared a special report on Extreme Photonics and Instrumentation. He called for strengthening cross college cooperation and jointly promoting the localization process of national key equipment.
The second stage of the forum exchange is chaired by Chen Qunfang, Secretary General of the Discipline Exchange Program Committee of Yuquan Campus. She conveyed the warm support of Academician Wu Hanming, Director of the FIT and Chairman of the Program Committee, and hoped that all colleges could further share resources, promote interdisciplinary integration, and help young teachers grow. On site, the forum successfully completed the eighth rotation handover ceremony.
This forum further clarified the implementation path of interdisciplinary and resource integration through in-depth discussions. The attendees unanimously agreed that the forum provided useful guidance for the construction of major platforms and project layout.
